Requirements to be able to work as a live cam model

The good news: Becoming an independent live cam model is fundamentally easy and straightforward. No matter whether Cam Girl, Cam Boy or Cam Transgender. Nobody is waiting for you to take your application documents with a neatly written curriculum vitae and ask you where you see yourself in five years. The requirements to work as a live cam model are really low. The application process, if you want to call it that way, is basically limited to verifying your age. This process is quite similar on all sites. Today, in addition to the digital copy of your ID, you are usually required to take a photo of you holding your ID next to your face. Some cam sites require additional proof, such as a copy of your last electricity or credit card bill, to confirm your residence.

1. Minimum age 18 years

You must be at least 18 years old to work as a Cam Girl or Cam Boy. There are no exceptions to this. At least not down. Very well upwards, because in some countries different (= higher) limits apply. Decisive for the minimum age is the legislation of the country from which you are broadcasting.

2. Photo ID

You need an official document to verify your age. Passport, ID card or driver’s license – usually doesn’t matter which of those. You don’t have to worry about your privacy. The data is treated confidentially by the providers, but must always be obtained for legal reasons. Your real name will not be published in your profile. So you don’t have to worry.

3. Technical requirements

In order to be able to work as a live cam model, you naturally need the appropriate technical equipment.

Most laptops have a built-in webcam. We do not recommend this for broadcasting. Due to the integration in the edge of the screen, the angle cannot be adjusted independently. Means you might have to do acrobatic masterpieces to catch yourself on the cam and to see yourself on the screen. The whole thing is less fun and the result is correspondingly worse. If you already have a PC or laptop that is not too old, it should be powerful enough for this purpose. With 8GB RAM, a standard graphics card and a current operating system (mostly Windows, Apple often also supported) you are there! Since you want to send data in the form of a video stream, make sure that you have sufficient upload speed with your Internet subscription. A connection via WLAN should not necessarily be the first choice for streaming, especially if other devices (such as cell phones) use the same connection. If possible, use your LAN cable.
